One of the reasons Starbucks has been so successful for decades is because of the choices it offers. Customers can customize their drinks to an unprecedented degree, with a wide selection of milk, blends, toppings, and, most importantly, flavors.

One of those flavors is the ever-popular Starbucks honey blend. What is Starbucks honey blend? You may have tried it without knowing. Here is all the information you need to know.

Starbucks Honey Blend

Starbucks Honey Blend is a pumpable syrup that combines honey and water, making it easier for baristas to measure than regular honey. The honey blend is added to beverages such as the Starbucks Honey Almond Milk Flat White and the Honey Oat Milk Latte. You can buy the honey blend Starbucks syrup online via retailers such as Amazon.

The following paragraphs explain what a honey blend is, how much sugar it contains, and the difference between honey and honey blends.

Starbucks Honey Blend Ingredients

Starbucks lists the ingredients in its honey blend under each drink that contains the syrup.

They are as follows:

  • Honey
  • Water
  • Natural flavors
  • Citric acid
  • Potassium sorbate
  • Xanthan gum

Starbucks first introduced this syrup when it launched a new line of plant-based lattes in 2021.

The two main ingredients in the honey blend are honey (64%) and water, while the other ingredients help to stabilize the syrup. Fortunately, this syrup has no added sugar, and honey is naturally quite sweet already.

Starbucks Honey Blend Calories

While Starbucks Honey Blend is a sweet substance, it doesn’t contain too many calories, with about 40 calories per scoop.

One shot of syrup is generally equivalent to half a tablespoon, which means you can get the three shots of honey blend you need for your Honey Almond Milk Flat White for just 60 calories.

But even though it’s low in calories, keep in mind that the Starbucks honey blend has five grams of sugar per shot.

Does Starbucks Honey Blend Contain any Extra Sugar?

Starbucks honey blend syrup does not contain any added sugar. As explained in the previous section, the two main ingredients are honey and water; the rest are natural flavors and additives that stabilize the syrup.

The honey mixture does not require any additional sugar. However, each can contain about five grams.

All other Starbucks-flavored syrups contain five grams of sugar per pump dose. Therefore, if you normally add flavored pods to your coffee, you will consume no more or less with the honey blend.

Is Starbucks Honey Blend Healthy?

While honey has important health benefits, including antibacterial properties, Starbucks honey blend syrup does not have these properties.

This is because while it does contain honey as the main ingredient, it is also diluted with water and contains additives/preservatives that are rarely considered healthy.

While the Starbucks honey blend doesn’t contain many calories, it does have a lot of sugar.

What is the Difference Between Starbucks Honey and Honey Blend?

Starbucks honey blend differs from regular honey in several ways, starting with its ingredients: Honey blend dilutes honey with water.

In addition, there are other ingredients, which are usually additives/preservatives.

Pure honey, on the other hand, is just that: honey in its natural, unmodified form.

According to baristas, real Starbucks honey is stored in long straws that have to be cut, which can impede speed when there are many people around.

Honey blend, however, is a syrup that is easily pumped.

Finally, there’s another difference between honey blend and honey: natural honey can contain up to 16 grams of sugar in a single spoon.

Since the honey blend is a diluted mixture, it only contains about five grams of sugar per pump.

Can You Buy Honey Blends at Starbucks?

If you like Starbucks honey syrup blend, you can buy it in stores!

You can find a listing here on the Amazon website and they also have other flavors such as caramel, toasted vanilla, or toffee nut.

You can also find the nutritional information in the product description: 80 calories for two tablespoons.

Bottom Line

Starbucks honey blend syrup is a good honey alternative. It is a mixture of honey syrup, water, and other ingredients, delivered in a pump bottle that allows easy dosing.

The honey blend is used to flavor and sweeten Starbucks beverages such as the Honey Oat Milk Latte.
